Description
Cavagino has a very intense straw yellow color that turns golden with aging. The nose is rewarded with a remarkable complexity with aromas ranging from balsamic to wood rosin. Hints of ripe fruit, golden apple, Poire-Williams, papaya, honey, wet stone, Mediterranean thicket and herbs. Full and strong on the palate with a great structure, warm, soft notes and a balance that comes from the pronounced minerality, which imparts taste and drinkability. The persistence of the aromas is extraordinary. Its remarkable structure makes it suitable for accompanying rich dishes such as fried white fish, turbot, sole, sole, etc., fried scallops, roast rabbit, creamy pasta with fruti di mare and poultry with cream sauce.

Made from pure Vermentino grapes from the hills of Castelnuivo Magra facing southeast; 150 / 200m above sea level. The terroir is stony with a rich structure. The vines are about 40 years old. In mid-September, the grapes are harvested by hand in 20kg crates. After the harvest, 60% of the must goes in stainless steel tanks and the rest in barriques. Cold maceration on the skin for 48 hours; fermentation in barriques for 40% of the grapes. Then the wine is aged in steel tanks until June.

The name Lvnae is inspired by the city of Luni, an ancient Etruscan and Greek port, dedicated by the Greeks (Luna, for the Romans) to the goddess Selene. The first Luna settlement was founded by the Romans in 177 BC. Lvnae Bosoni's wine production is rooted in the ancient history of this country and its peoples, the Etruscans, Greeks and Romans, from whom it inherited a great wine tradition.

The area of Colli di Luni is the easternmost corner of the region (see photos), located between the Gulf of La Spezia and the Apuan Alps, only 11 km from the sea as the crow flies. This privileged position provides a unique microclimate where the alternating action of the sea and the mountain breeze, depending on whether it is day or night, creates the perfect conditions for the cultivation of vines and the production of excellent wines.
