La Bodega de Pinoso is a 100% biologically working bodega in the warm DO Valencia, near Alicante. Under the inspiring leadership of Ana Amat, a talented young team is working on the wines. They combine modern and traditional techniques, work with low sulphite levels and use native yeasts and native grape varieties such as monastrell and airen. The substrate and the microclimate around the bodega are ideal for growing these grape varieties. They give the wines of La Bodega de Pinoso that little bit extra. An "alma de vida", Mediterranean soul as the Spaniards describe it.
With the red wines the monastrell provides Spanish friendliness, the alicante bouschet (= garnacha tintorera) for the fruit and the spicy, after which the merlot finishes it off completely.
The deep-rooted old canes of the airen create a surprising minerality with the white wine, making it look as if the wine has been given some wood aging. A unique wine that is based on many years of experimentation.
Unprecedented price performance.
There is nothing easier than buying huge expensive wines in the hope of encountering something beautiful. It is much more difficult to discover extremely cheap wines that can withstand any test.
Ana Amat recently took over the wine-making stir at Bodega de la Pinoso in Alicante (Spain) and in a short time transformed the somewhat "rustic" wines into young, exciting almost "vibrating" wines.
The white consists of airén and sauvignon blanc grapes. Juicy, balanced and convincing. The perfect aperitif, but also great with fish, shellfish and crustaceans. White meat or creamy cheeses. A bargain € 7.95.
The Rosé has been the discovery of this rosé season without exaggeration. Pale salmon pink in color. Wonderfully fragrant, dry and full. The monastrell grape in optima forma. A great man, even in the cold winter months! € 7.95
Pinosa have therefore achieved amazing quality / price and over the years have won a shower of prizes!
