Finca Sophenia is one of the best wine producers from Gualtallary, Tupungato, Mendoza, one of the most prestigious regions to produce high quality wines. Tupungato has an ideal microclimate for slow ripening of the grapes. The small terroir of Gualtallary, in turn, gives the wines one of Argentina's most unique profiles, distinguishing them as some of the most mineral in the country. The combination of altitude, cold weather and sandy and stony soils results in ideal natural acidity. The result: intense and elegant wines, which stand out for their good structure and unique tannin structure.
All grapes are grown on founder Roberto Luka's estate and the wines are produced and bottled in house. They are acclaimed by the press worldwide, including Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Decanter, Wine Enthusiast and Wine & Spirits. The domain is in its entirety in conversion to organic viticulture.
