Description
Ela is deep purple in color with a delicate and balanced acidity. It is a full-bodied wine with a long-lasting aftertaste and a velvety texture. The wine has fruity aromas of black cherries, fresh blueberries and plum jam, with cloves, coffee and browned butter in the background. The wine underwent fermentation on skins at 28oC for 10-20 days, followed by full malolactic fermentation and maturing for 12 months in French oak barrels.
 
The growing season prior to harvest started with a rainy winter. Flowering started with moist soil and good growing conditions. Spring started earlier than usual, leading to early maturity in most plots. The beginning of spring was marked by a strong growth of the vines, which put pressure on the winegrowers to harvest their tasks on time. The weather was moderate throughout the season with no extreme events. The vintage shows signs of very high quality.
