Description
This complex Malvasia has an exceptional minerality, is full-bodied, with distinct characteristics of the grape variety and fruitiness. To improve the quality of the grapes, Benvenuti has kept the yields of the vineyards in Turkovo, located at an altitude of 350 meters, to a minimum. Malvazija Anno Domini was aged for 24 months in oak barrels, after a maceration of 15 days. With great aging potential, the 2015 vintage was made in 5,000 bottles.
Nicola and Alberto Benvenuti are the new generation of winemakers. Passionate, modest and very talented, they have been the crowned kings of Istria / Croatia for a number of years now. Both their dry and their sweet white as well as the special red wine have been voted the best in the country. Working sustainably, with family traditions of paramount importance, the Benvenuti brothers opt for indigenous grape varieties such as Malvasia and Teran. The microclimate on the terraced high-altitude vineyards near Kaldir / Motovun in the interior of Istria, in combination with the white background, ensures mineral expression and preserves freshness and aroma. They are digestible wines with a special freshness and minerality. Malvasia is considered to be Istria's leading white grape and one of the most important Croatian grape varieties.
