Description
Gevrey-Chamberin 1er Cru Aux Combottes is rich and complex, expressive and powerful. Intensely aromatic with scents of ripe red fruit, blackcurrant and licorice. The aromas of the ripe red fruit are nicely confirmed in the taste. The wine is elegant and generous, the flesh is combined with melted and present tannins. Abundant smoothness is combined with good acidity, a solid wine that is unmistakably made for aging.
The pinot noir grapes come from a clay-limestone soil in the Côte de Nuits. The vines are 65 years old. Aging 12 months in 60% new oak.
