Description
Dry White Port is chestnut brown in color. The wine has a wonderful aroma of fresh fruit, lemonade and apricot. It has clear notes of nuts and almonds from long maturation in wood. These aromas remain long in the mouth and the wine presents a concentrated and fresh aftertaste, with a nice acidity.
The grapes for the dry white Morgadio da Calçada undergo a long maceration on the skins. It is vinified in mills, sometimes the grapes are tread with foot. The aging is oxidative, in small old oak barrels in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia for at least 3 and a half years. Different wines are combined before they are bottled.
