Description
Circus has an intense ruby red color. The aroma is a pleasant alternation of floral and fruity sensations, wild flowers and ripe red fruit. Harmonious and persistent on the palate. Its velvety tannins give the wine a lot of elegance. This is a versatile wine that goes with hearty entrées such as stuffed pasta with meat sauce, a simple grilled steak or a potato stew.
Circus is made from Massareta, Albarossa and Alicante grapes from the hills of Castelnuivo Magra and Ortonovo. The terroir is stony with a rich structure. The vines are about 15 years old. In mid-September, the grapes are harvested by hand in 20kg crates. This is followed by a 10-day maceration on the skins, after stretching, fermentation and maturation in stainless steel tanks until January / February.
The name Lvnae is inspired by the city of Luni, an ancient Etruscan and Greek port, dedicated by the Greeks (Luna, for the Romans) to the goddess Selene. The first Luna settlement was founded by the Romans in 177 BC. Lvnae Bosoni's wine production is rooted in the ancient history of this country and its peoples, the Etruscans, Greeks and Romans, from whom it inherited a great wine tradition.
The area of Colli di Luni is the easternmost corner of the region (see photos), located between the Gulf of La Spezia and the Apuan Alps, only 11 km from the sea as the crow flies. This privileged position provides a unique microclimate where the alternating action of the sea and the mountain breeze, depending on whether it is day or night, creates the perfect conditions for the cultivation of vines and the production of excellent wines.
