Description
Niccolò V has a ruby red color with purple accents. The aroma is intense and complex with spicy hints of black pepper and cinnamon and undertones of wet stone and leather. Hints of ripe red fruit are clearly present. The wine is warm and convincing on the palate, with a great personality. Its good minerality ensures a pleasant, dry finish. This wine is excellent to combine with hearty meat dishes such as bistecca alla Fiorentina (steak from Florence), game dishes and stew.

This wine is made from Sangiovse, Merlot and Pollera Nera grapes. These come from the vineyards of Castelnuovo Magra and Ortonovo. The terroir consists of a stony, rich structure. The average age of the vines is 35 years. The grapes are harvested by hand in mid to late September. After this they rest for 12 days in the skins, after stretching and maturing the wine for 12 months in barriques and another 6 months in the bottle.

The name Lvnae is inspired by the city of Luni, an ancient Etruscan and Greek port, dedicated by the Greeks (Luna, for the Romans) to the goddess Selene. The first Luna settlement was founded by the Romans in 177 BC. Lvnae Bosoni's wine production is rooted in the ancient history of this country and its peoples, the Etruscans, Greeks and Romans, from whom it inherited a great wine tradition.

The area of Colli di Luni is the easternmost corner of the region (see photos), located between the Gulf of La Spezia and the Apuan Alps, only 11 km from the sea as the crow flies. This privileged position provides a unique microclimate where the alternating action of the sea and the mountain breeze, depending on whether it is day or night, creates the perfect conditions for the cultivation of vines and the production of excellent wines.
