This great wine is open on the nose, fruity, elegant and fine. We smell ripe peach, quince and light citrus, accompanied by hints of almond, flint, beeswax and brioche. The taste is full of fruit, balanced, delicately a masterpiece!

Description
Corton-Charlemagne is the only vineyard in Burgundy to bear the name of two emperors: Courthon, emperor from under the Rhine called Curtis d'Othon, then Corton. After which Carolus Magnus, Charlemagne followed, named Charlemagne. This great wine is open on the nose, fruity, elegant and fine. We smell ripe peach, quince and light citrus, accompanied by hints of almond, flint, beeswax and brioche. The taste is full of fruit, balanced, delicately a masterpiece! It has a fine tension balanced with a nice freshness. At the end we taste the presence of a touch of vanilla and butter. What a fantastically beautiful complex and long finish this Emperor of a wine has!

In the village of Pernand-Vergelesses, the vineyard for this wine is located on Mount Corton in the west. The bottoms are very white and consist of broken limestone. The age of the vines is 50-60 years. After manual harvesting, when the grapes have reached full maturity, the grapes are gently pressed with a pneumatic press. The must is then transferred overnight into French oak barrels, which consist of 50% new barrels. The fermentation starts with native yeast and bacteria. After maturing for 9 months, the wines undergo coarse filtration on a membrane and are bottled by gravity.

Aging: 9 months in French oak barrels, 50% new oak.

Storage potential: 15 to 20 years.
