Description
The Chablis Vieilles Vignes comes from vines that are 56 years old and has a pale gold color with light green reflections. The fragrance invites you with notes of exotic fruits, lemon, flint, undergrowth and field mushroom. Aromas of lime flower, mint and acacia also occur with a touch of licorice and freshly cut hay, Lively, powerful with a nice minerality. In the mouth, these aromas retain their freshness for a longer period of time. The 2018 vintage is drinkable now, but will keep for another 5 to 8 years. Enjoy as an aperitif with good cheeses or with seafood pasta, grilled white fish or even with lobster!
Located near Auxerre in the Yonne department, the Chablis vineyards line a small river appropriately named Serein. The Cistercian monks of Pontigny Abbey started growing vines here in the 12th century. The Chablis AOC status was created in January 1938, confirming the excellent qualities of this dry white wine, which, despite the wines of some other regions, has held its leading place throughout its history thanks to the high quality of its raw material - the Chardonnay grape.
Storage potential: 5 to 8 years.
