Description
Due to an extremely strict pre-selection of the grapes, combined with a careful aging in the cellar and a successful assembly, it has been possible to achieve a real symphony of aromas and flavors. The contribution of each grape variety does not emerge individually, but forms a powerful symbiosis.
Appius 2018 has a brilliant color with yellowish, slightly olive reflections. The scent is intense and complex, it has aromas of tropical fruits such as banana, melon and mango combined with Williams pear, white peach and "Renet apple". In the mouth the wine is elegant and has a fresh taste and drinkability, with the typical Appian character, almost velvety, carried by a lively acidity and a mineral tasty structure.
APPIUS 2018 is made from 52% chardonnay, 20% pinot grigio, 13% sauvignon blanc and 15% pinot bianco from rigorously selected vines in Eppan focused on the southeast and southwest. The soil consists of limestone gravel and moraine. Manual harvesting took place in mid-September. The grapes are placed in barriques-tonneaux for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation (except sauvignon) and vinification. Assembly takes place after just under a year, followed by a further three years of aging in steel tanks with fine yeast.
